Randy Price WINS Inaugural NHRA Southeast Division Dixie Heads-Up Series .

South Mississippi racer Randy Price won the Top Modified 4.70 class at the inaugural event for the NHRA Southeast Division Dixie Heads Up Series at Huntsville Dragway.  Price defeated Billy Thigpen of Georgia in the finals, 4.73 to 4.74.

The cold weather paired with vicious crosswinds made the day’s race a tough one, but thanks to the Huntsville track crew, the track was in top shape.

A wide racing groove helped make the crosswind manageable.  Not only was Price impressed with the track, but he was also overwhelmed by the treatment he received by all of the dragway employees.

So what was Randy Price’s response when he won the race? He was very excited and at a loss for words.  Winning this race allowed Price to win a Wally on his first attempt. When there is a win, there are always people to thank. Randy wants to thank his dad, Glenn Price, for giving him the opportunity to race with him.  He also wants to thank George Howard and NHRA for putting on this race and the series.
